2nd International Conference on Geospatial Data Science: Theory and Application 2026 (GEODETA 2026)

The 2nd International Conference on Geospatial Data Science: Theory and Application 2026 (GEODETA 2026) is an international forum that brings together researchers, academics, professionals, and practitioners to share recent advances, research findings, and applications in geospatial data science.

The conference is themed "Advancing Geospatial Intelligence for Sustainability and Resilience", highlighting the role of geospatial intelligence, data analytics, and emerging technologies in addressing environmental, infrastructural, and sustainability challenges.

Publication

Papers accepted for presentation at GEODETA 2026 will undergo a peer-review process. Accepted and presented papers that meet the conference and publisher requirements will be considered for publication in Scopus-indexed proceedings, subject to the publisher's editorial policies and quality control procedures.

Researchers and practitioners are warmly encouraged to participate and contribute to advancing geospatial data science for sustainable and resilient development.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished research that is not currently under review by any other conference, journal, or publication venue. All manuscripts must be written in English and fall within the scope of GEODETA 2026.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the official GEODETA 2026 template based on the IOP Conference Series format.

Submitted papers should generally be between 6 and 10 pages in length, including figures, tables, and references. Authors are encouraged to follow the template carefully to ensure consistency and facilitate the review and publication process.

Structure of the Paper

The manuscript should normally contain the following sections:

  • Title

  • Authors and Affiliations

  • Abstract

  • Keywords

  • Introduction

  • Materials and Methods / Methodology

  • Results and Discussion

  • Conclusions

  • Acknowledgments (if applicable)

  • References

The abstract should clearly describe the objectives, methodology, key findings, and significance of the work.

Figures, Tables, and Equations

  • Figures and tables must be clearly numbered and cited in the text.

  • All figures should be of publication quality and have sufficient resolution.

  • Captions should be provided for all figures and tables.

  • Equations should be formatted clearly and numbered sequentially when referenced in the text.

References

References should be formatted according to the citation and reference style specified in the official IOP Conference Series template.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all references are accurate, complete, and properly cited within the manuscript.

Ethical Standards

Authors must ensure that:

  • The submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere.

  • All authors have approved the submitted manuscript.

  • Proper acknowledgment is given to the work of others.

  • Any potential conflicts of interest are disclosed.

  • Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data complies with relevant ethical requirements and regulations.

The conference follows internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and reserves the right to reject submissions that violate ethical principles.

Supplementary Materials

Authors may submit supplementary materials where appropriate, including:

  • Research datasets

  • Source code or scripts

  • Additional figures or tables

  • Technical documentation

  • Multimedia content supporting the research

Supplementary materials may be made available alongside the published paper, subject to conference and publisher policies.

Submission and Review Process

All manuscripts must be submitted through the official GEODETA 2026 submission system before the specified deadlines.

Each submission will undergo a peer-review process conducted by the Scientific Committee and expert reviewers. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers' comments.

The conference adopts a peer-review process consistent with the standards of IOP Conference Series.

Acceptance for presentation at the conference does not automatically guarantee publication. Final papers must satisfy the conference requirements, peer-review recommendations, and the publisher's quality control procedures before being considered for publication in the conference proceedings.
